Welding service is a process that joins two pieces of metal together by melting them with a heat source and using a welding rod to create a weld. The welded joint is usually stronger than the two pieces of metal it’s made from. Welding service is often used in construction, manufacturing, and automotive applications.

Types of Welding Processes

Arc welding – uses an electric arc to heat the metal

MIG welding – uses a wire fed through a gun to create the weld

TIG welding – uses a tungsten electrode to create the weld

Stick welding – uses a stick (or electrode) to create the weld

Process of Steel Welding in North Ontario

    Arc welding

Arc welding is a process that uses an electric arc to heat the metal. The arc is created when two pieces of metal are connected and electricity flows between them. This heats the metal to a point where it can be melted and welded together.

    MIG welding

In MIG welding , a wire is fed through a gun and into the weld. This wire is made of metal, so it melts and joins with the other pieces of metal being welded together.

    TIG welding

A tungsten electrode is used to create the arc in TIG welding. This electrode is very sharp, so it can easily pierce the metal and start the arc. The tungsten electrode also emits a very hot flame, which helps to heat the metal quickly and melt it into a weld.

    Stick welding

Stick welding is very similar to TIG welding, except that a stick (or electrode) is used instead of a tungsten electrode. The stick welding process is slower than TIG welding, but it’s still a very effective way to weld metal together.

How do I choose the right welding process for the job?

The right welding process for the job depends on the type of metal being welded, the thickness of the metal, etc.  You will need to choose a process that can create a weld with the desired properties.

For example, if you need a weld that is strong and durable, you will need to use a process like arc welding or MIG welding. If you need a weld that is more flexible, you may want to use a process like TIG welding or stick welding.
